Introducing Playbook, a computer-shop-slash-book-store-hub was established by the couple, Mr. Richard and Mrs. Marikris Brojan last 2014, at Parañaque City. Given Mr. Richard as a man who loves to play video games and Mrs. Marikris as a woman who loves reading books, the married couple came up with an idea of combining their hobbies and turning it into a business thus, 'PLAYBOOK'.
It started with 7 couches only in a small humble space and has mostly visited by players in the gaming community renting the place every Friday. Because of that, gamers kept on coming to the shop, so the couple decided to move out into a bigger place in Circuit Makati this place can occupy more than 130 people at the same time. Some of the players who always come here are aged 10 to 20 years old but, surprisingly, there are still players who are around 30 play her. The rates in Playbook are so affordable that you can even play as much as you want for 150 pesos and be able to play fighting games such as TEKKEN.
It was a huge success for them and an opportunity for a player in the GC. There are different types of GC, it is based on what kind of games there are playing some of those are SMASH, TEKKEN, STREET FIGHTER, GUILTY GEAR, etc., this community consist of 50 members and up and they are coming at PLAYBOOK. The place is full every Friday because of them, but not all of them can play at the same time there was a rule change the loser, where one set is consisting of 5 matches per game and it takes only 2 minutes per match. Every Friday, there is some player who places in the special chair where they are broadcasted live on social media outlets most specifically on Facebook. Also, PLAYBOOK is holding some tournaments not just local but also internationally, where they are winning and bringing trophies. The local tournament is held during Friday to Sunday, and it always packed with players inside the shop where the lounge cant occupy it anymore, so to have a nicer and safe environment for the players they have their flow for the tournament, it is the pulling system where there is a bracket from A to D, so if the players are scheduled 1 pm to 3 pm, the player who is not playing that time should wait outside and just come back again after the designated time. For the International competition, they held this once a year where a player from across the country like Korea, Japan, and the United States and the Philippines is competing here.
After we look at the gaming side of PLAYBOOK, lets now take a look at its books side. They are selling books like Harry Potter, Greek mythologies, Anime, and Cartoons. Also, they are selling merchandise like jackets, wands and many more that you will enjoy.
