Chill ambiance. Comfortable couches. Cozy place. Experience this all at Cafe Amianan! It comes with affordable meals and a home-like interior that you will surely love. Come and visit this newly established coffee shop in Pasig City!
Cafe amianan was founded by Ms. Claude Marie Bagsic and Mr. Ken Cabanting, her boyfriend, last November 2018. However, financing came from her boyfriend's parents. Her boyfriends' family is from Ilocos and 'amianan' is an Ilocano word for "North", thus cafe amianan was born. Ms. Claude is a 26-year old businesswoman and is a graduate of Advertising Management at De La Salle University of Manila. She also studied culinary after working at DLSU Manila for three years, one reason why she does all the cooking in their shop. Surprisingly, they planned the construction of the place from August to September 2018, just for around two months!
This coffee shop is inspired by metals and a touch of black and strong brownish furniture. The Industrial-like interior made it even more relaxing and pleasing to the customers! The architect initially planned to maximize the space of the place, but the young couple refused to do so. They focused more on the welfare and comfort of their customers, and they didn't want their customers to feel uneasy when they are already inside.
Even if it is a small place, the young couple did not try to put many seats and tables inside because customers will feel uncomfortable, and their actions would be minimal, if the seats and tables are too close to each other. They didn't make a mistake because people are happy with the place.
“Actually, gusto ng architect namin na lagyan ng maraming seats at tables dito para raw maraming tao ang ma-occupy.. Kaso ayaw naman namin, kasi di naman kami naka focus sa profit lang. Doon kami sa welfare ng customers para balik balikan kami.", said Ms. Claud.
"Grabe sobrang sarap nga dito sa place na to. Kapag maaga ako nakauwi galing UE (Universty of the East) talagang pinupuntahan ko siya. Dito ako tumatambay at nagpapalipas oras, kahit diyan lang bahay ko sa condo sa tapat.", said Mayet, a student from the University of the East who just discovered the shop.
Before Café Amianan, the couple runs a laundry shop as their initial business. Ms. Claud said that most of their customers at their laundry shop keep on looking for food to eat, as they wait for their clothes to be done, and most of them search for food at a convenience store near the laundry shop. They are also tired of buying ready-to-eat meals since there are no food chains, eatery, and carinderia near the area. So, as a woman who happens to know about advertising management and culinary, she decided to build a coffee shop just above their laundry shop. Their primary goal is to cater food to their laundry shop's customers and other possible consumers such as those who live in a condominium, and those who work around the area.
As time passed by, they get more and more customers. They also did not expect that students far from their location would visit their shop because they somehow lack promotions on social media platforms. Their place is also not that visible to the customers because it's hidden, so if a new customer gets in, it is absolutely a surprise! The young couple is happy for the result they are getting; they keep on receiving compliments as well and surprisingly get to befriend their customers. People always love places with friendly staff, and cafe amianan is one of those that possess this characteristic. Their customers say that they also love to be there all the time because of their accommodating and jolly staff. See? Who wouldn't want to be here?
Since this is just a newly established coffee shop, their meals and products are still limited. However, Ms. Claud said they are planning to add more affordable meals that the consumers would love. They are also planning to add snacks like nachos and 'Unli wings' that never gets old. However, there would only be a certain time and day for their unlimited chicken wings for they only have small place and their kitchen has limited space as well. Hmm, not that bad right? Raise your flags if you still want an unli wings!
Don't you think this place is just perfect? Imagine having all the things you need in one shop? They have unlimited Wi-Fi, affordable meals, comfortable and chill place, friendly and accommodating staff, good music, chill ambiance, printing for students, and a laundry shop that you can surely rely on when your schedule is just too tight for you to get your clothes done! Cafe Amianan is worth trying for!
