October 4 last year when Mr. Caloy Magtoti decided to open Chef Akang, a native-filipino inspired carinderia in Teresa. Up until this day, it is evident that Mr. Caloy’s love for lutong-bahay foods brought him to a successful career as a businessman.
Given the celebration, on Chef Akang’s founding anniversary, Mr. Caloy had something so touching to the hearts. Instead of making the celebration extravagant, Chef Akang had aroscaldo for everyone. This is Mr. Caloy’s way of delightfulness to all Akangistas since day one, and even those Akangistas soon to be.
“Sarap nung arozcaldo, hindi tinipid kahit libre. Happy 1st anniversary Chef Akang!”, said Neil Acedera, one of the many customers that tried and enjoyed the warm arozcaldo for all.
The free arozcaldo was free for all whether you’re an Akangista or not.
“Gusto kong magpa -food feeding sa mga nakapalibot sa amin’g medyo hirap sa buhay para kahit paano, makatulong ako sa kanila, yung mabusog sila kahit papaano.”, said Mr. Caloy
“Masaya ako dahil umabot ng 1 year ang Chef Akang.”, he added.
From others’ point of view, this is an act of kindness and delightfulness. But for Mr. Caloy, nothing was more special than celebrating ‘first years’ of existence when you do it with sharing blessings no matter how small or prosperous it is.
